Kakao Mobility announced on the 21st that it will conduct a campaign to eradicate the use of the illegal macro program known as "Jijigi."

Jijigi, a slang term used by taxi drivers, refers to macro "call-catching machines" and "apps" that attach to smartphones. The use of these devices is banned in the industry as they block calls from other taxi drivers.

Kakao Mobility explained that the use of Jijigi by some drivers can create abnormal traffic and lead to an imbalance in passenger calls.

Accordingly, the company plans to implement a "Samjin Out System" containing permanent suspensions for taxi drivers using Jijigi, to protect those operating honestly and to focus on creating a fair taxi calling environment.
