On the 20th, Jeong Cheol-dong, CEO of LG Display, said, “This year, we will maximize the achievements of our ongoing business structure advancement and enhance the company’s trust through profitability-focused operations, cost efficiency, and quality competitiveness.”
On the same day, during a speech at the regular shareholders' meeting held at the LG Display Learning Center in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, Jeong noted, “The results of our activities so far are becoming increasingly visible.” LG Display plans to accelerate its business structure enhancement centered around organic light-emitting diodes (OLED).
Jeong also introduced strategies for each institutional sector. He stated, “Our small business sector will strengthen revenue by improving development capabilities and customer responsiveness, while the medium-sized business will solidify its foundation for revenue acquisition through quality competitiveness and business structure improvement,” adding, “For the large sector, we will shift to a profitable structure through increased product sales and cost innovation.”
He also noted, “The automotive business will increase its contribution through stable revenue expansion,” and stated, “We will show our commitment to generating more stable results in the future.”
At the shareholders' meeting, all five agenda items, including the approval of the financial statements, amendments to the articles of incorporation, appointment of the board of directors and audit committee members, and approval of the board of directors' compensation limit, were passed as originally proposed. In the appointment of directors, Kim Seong-hyun was reappointed as a director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while Kang Jeong-hye, a professor at the Seoul National University School of Law, was reappointed as an outside director. Lee Sang-woo, head of the management control division at LG, was newly appointed as a non-executive director. Additionally, the board of directors' compensation limit remains the same as the previous year at 4 billion won.
