KT M Mobile announced on the 20th that it will apply the 'artificial intelligence (AI) automated activation' service to customers who open a subscription using eSIM (embedded SIM card). This service allows customers who apply for eSIM activation without needing a physical SIM card (USIM) to activate quickly without waiting.
Last June, KT M Mobile introduced the industry's first AI-based automated activation system, automating the process of verifying customer identification, validating information, and processing activation, significantly reducing customer waiting times and receiving positive responses.
At that time, the 'AI automated activation' service was operated for customers who applied for USIM activation through the official KT M Mobile website and application. However, with the expansion of the service's applicability, customers who apply for eSIM activation can also receive the service.
Lee Kwang-kyu, head of the business operations division at KT M Mobile, noted, "The purpose of introducing AI solutions is to quickly process repetitive and standardized activation procedures so that personnel can focus on core tasks that require judgment, thereby improving the overall quality of customer service," and added, "In the future, we will strive to apply AI solutions to various services to innovate customer experience and enhance value."
