Kakao marked its 15th anniversary by holding the 'One Kakao Summit' management workshop at the Kakao AI Campus in Yongin on the 18th, where executives from the entire group gathered to discuss future growth strategies, the company noted on the 19th.
This event was the first workshop where executives from all Kakao Group affiliates gathered to discuss key agendas, with over 160 executives attending.
The event was attended by Jeong Jin-kyung, CEO of Kakao, along with representatives from 16 affiliates including Kakao, Kakao Games, Kakao Mobility, and KakaoBank, as well as the Chairperson of the CA committee. In his keynote address, CEO Jeong said, "Kakao jumped into the mobile revolution 15 years ago, bringing changes to people's daily lives, and will open a new future through AI going forward."
CEO Jeong presented Kakao Group's AI popularization strategy, including ▲ an orchestration policy that utilizes various language models from external companies like OpenAI in appropriate places ▲ building an ecosystem among agent platforms that integrate key services within the group such as messaging, finance, and mobility ▲ and developing in-depth data that can understand users' daily lives.
"As we compete in a borderless manner against global big tech with limited resources, an approach of 'let's just try it' is risky," CEO Jeong said, adding that "setting a clear direction based on a deep market understanding and making efficient and speedy investments are essential."
Meanwhile, as Kim Beom-soo, the founder of Kakao, stepped down from the Chairperson position of the CA committee due to health issues, Kakao is now operating under the sole leadership of CEO Jeong.
