Suprema, an artificial intelligence (AI) integrated security solution manufacturer, announced on the 18th that it will unveil 'BioStar X' for the first time at the 'Global Security Expo (SECON) 2025.' BioStar X is a security solution that integrates access control and video analysis into a single platform. It can perform real-time access management, video monitoring, and intelligent video analysis simultaneously.
BioStar X supports the registration of thousands of users and can operate reliably in large facilities by connecting multiple devices. As a result, efficient security management is possible not only in multi-use facilities such as airports, hospitals, and government agencies but also in smart buildings.
At the Suprema exhibition booth, visitors can experience real-time video monitoring, access log recording, building blueprints, and more through 16 integrated screens configured with an optimized aspect ratio, as well as action trigger buttons that can be controlled with a single mouse click.
The reason BioStar X can perform such integrated management is that it is equipped with Suprema's 'AI algorithm,' which won the Best Innovation Award at CES 2025. This algorithm detects intrusion, roaming, falling, and other behaviors through advanced anomaly behavior analysis and video analysis technology, providing functions such as people counting, tailgating detection, blacklist detection, and missing person searches.
Additionally, the algorithm can detect the presence of mobile phones, weapons, guns, knives, masks, and facial distortions during cash withdrawals to prevent financial crimes such as phishing. Attendees can experience the AI crime prevention solution equipped with this algorithm at the bank's automatic teller machine (ATM) in the exhibition booth.
Suprema plans to focus on expanding its business in the field of unmanned AI security utilizing AIoT (artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things) this year. As a starting point for this project, the results of collaborations with various partners on unmanned AI security solutions will be showcased at this exhibition.
First, Suprema will present a real-world application case of Factoryal Seongsu, the first robot-friendly building commercialized in Korea, in collaboration with Hyundai Motor and Kia Robotics Lab. By integrating Suprema's CLUe and robot solutions, visitors can experience how robots detect and pass through entrance gates inside the building at the booth.
Suprema will also showcase a smart building integrated solution that provides access control, energy efficiency management, maintenance, and other functions by linking Samsung Electronics' SmartThings Pro and CLUe. A technology that monitors and analyzes real-time videos captured by drones in collaboration with Niras Lab, a domestic drone unicorn company that won the Best Innovation Award at CES 2025, will also be demonstrated.
Choi Jong-kyu, Deputy Minister of Suprema's domestic business division, noted that 'Suprema plans to create new business models in collaboration with partners by integrating various security solutions centered around the AI-based BioStar X and expand into various industrial sectors.'
