The Korea MVNO Association (KMVNO) announced on the 18th that it is continuously launching 20GB (gigabyte) 5G plans in the 10,000 won range as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT's policy to lower wholesale prices for budget mobile services.

So far, companies such as Smatel, KkeunSarang Connect, and Free Telecom have launched 10,000 won 20GB 5G plans, while EYESVISION, Unicomz, and StayFive are expected to launch within the first half of the year. Consequently, about 20 plans have either been launched or are set to be launched, and the association stated that more operators will participate in the future.

The Ministry of Science and ICT recently revised the method for determining wholesale prices for budget mobile services, introducing a "cost-based pricing method." Consequently, the wholesale price for data has been reduced from 1.29 won per megabyte (MB) to 0.82 won.

The association said it plans to continue working closely with the government to ensure the sustainable growth and competitiveness of the budget mobile industry.
