LG Uplus announced on the 11th that President Hong Beom-sik held his first town hall meeting on the occasion of his 100th day in office and engaged in communication with the staff.

During the town hall meeting held on the 10th at the Yongsan office in Seoul, Hong shared his feelings about his 100 days in office and discussed the definition and implementation of his vision for a "brighter world." The meeting was conducted for 90 minutes without a separate host or script, reflecting Hong's intention to communicate freely with the staff.

Hong began the conversation by saying, "As a CEO who has just completed 100 days since joining, I would like to greet my seniors." He particularly created a relaxed atmosphere by showing a photo of himself from 30 years ago during his youth and discussing his dreams at that time.

Hong noted, "I believe that motivation, ability, and trigger are three important factors for growth in a company or an individual," and added, "The members of LG Uplus already possess sufficient motivation and ability to pursue success." He emphasized, "To unleash potential, a trigger is necessary, and it is my role as CEO to create that trigger."

To achieve this, Hong stated, "We will raise our standards to meet the heightened expectations of our customers and focus our investments on areas that can create even greater impact," adding, "We will strive to quickly secure differentiated competitiveness by building a partnership ecosystem." Hong defined a "brighter world" as providing the values that 'better' customers need, offering unique experiences that 'different' customers can be touched by, and delivering participation and empathy to 'righteous' customers and partners.

He remarked, "In the past, we shared visions and goals like being number one, but nowadays, purpose seems to be more important," and said, "For the members, the value of how much my work contributes to creating a 'brighter world' is more important than simply working for a top company."

Hong shared his new dream as CEO with the staff. He expressed, "I want to be remembered as a CEO who contributed to the growth of the members, even if just a little compared to yesterday," and added, "I want to nurture LG Uplus employees to become talents recognized anywhere." He also conveyed his intention to promote appreciation and the spread of a positive organizational culture. Hong noted, "To offset one negative remark, it takes 16 praises," and vowed, "I will start by smiling and engaging with employees and lead the way in creating a positive organizational culture."

Hong also revealed plans to prioritize increasing dialogue with members and enhancing execution rather than focusing solely on strategizing during the first 100 days. He noted, "I set up a meetup with employees who attended MWC 25 together," and added, "I will continue to create various combinations to communicate and share my thoughts candidly."

At this meeting, Hong shared the mid- to long-term strategy to grow into the number one telecommunications platform corporation in the country. He outlined four key management principles: creating customer value, securing differentiated competitiveness, optimizing operations, and focusing on quality, safety, and security, with plans to execute detailed strategic tasks and build a solid foundation within three years.
