It has been revealed that malware was installed on Kakao Enterprise's internal server, leading to the leakage of account information for more than 60 employees. According to the ICT industry on the 5th, Kakao discovered the malware on its internal infrastructure server on the 21st of last month and notified the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA).
Kakao Enterprise stated that customer information was not leaked. The leaked information includes account information such as emails and passwords of Kakao Enterprise employees, and it noted that customer data was not harmed.
Kakao Enterprise is strengthening its security system and reinforcing internal processes in light of this incident. However, some pointed out that the installation of malware on an internal server indicates a security vulnerability.
Kakao Enterprise stated, "We have strengthened our security system through measures such as blocking the initial attack route and monitoring the attacker's IP address."
