Kakao Entertainment (Kakao) announced on the 25th that it has formed a partnership with the Japanese content studio 'BABEL LABEL.'
The two companies plan to collaborate in various ways, including jointly developing dramas and films and adapting story intellectual properties (IP) such as webtoons and web novels into video content.
The two companies will jointly produce a project directed by Fujii Michihito as their first collaboration. This is the first time that Director Fujii Michihito is pursuing a collaborative project with a Korean corporation.
Director Fujii Michihito won six awards at the Japanese Academy Awards for the film 'Shimbun Kisha,' starring actress Shim Eun-kyung. This film was also produced as a Netflix series. Additionally, he participated as a director and executive producer for Japanese remakes of the Korean film 'The Outlaws' and the drama 'Nevertheless.'
Kakao Entertainment aims to combine the core competencies of both companies to create various synergies and plan to develop and produce intellectual properties (IP) that can gain global popularity, thereby solidifying its position as a global studio.
