ES ONE announced its '2025 security trends' on the 15th. The company analyzed various incident trends and diagnosed the flow of the security industry based on a survey conducted on its customers and visitors to social media (SNS).
ES ONE announced the following as the '2025 security trends': ▲ 'strengthening CCTV security' due to the surge in IP camera hacking incidents, ▲ 'increasing construction of artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV' to prevent incidents, ▲ 'expanding the supply of home security solutions' as violent crimes in residential facilities increase, and ▲ 'advanced facial recognition solutions gaining attention' for identifying counterfeit faces.
ES ONE stated that hacking incidents targeting low-priced IP cameras have emerged as a serious social problem. As more consumers purchase vulnerable IP cameras through overseas direct purchases, cases of personal information being leaked through video footage are occurring continuously.
According to the survey, 75% of respondents said, 'CCTV video hacking crimes are increasing.' In response to the question, 'Are you considering new investments to prepare for CCTV video hacking crimes?', 38% of respondents replied, 'I am willing to invest.'
The 'necessary measures to prevent CCTV video hacking crimes' included ▲ installing CCTV that has received security certification (TTA) (57%), ▲ purchasing CCTV from verified companies (32%), and ▲ regularly changing the DVR password (10%).
ES ONE noted that there is growing social concern about safety accidents as disasters occur in industrial sites and daily life, such as lithium battery factory explosions and electric vehicle battery fires.
Accordingly, when asked, 'Are you considering new investments to prevent workplace safety accidents?', 54% of respondents replied, 'I have intentions.' In response to the question, 'What CCTV-related solutions do you want to introduce to prevent safety accidents?' the answers were ▲ AI CCTV that can recognize accidents in advance (58%), ▲ CCTV abnormal monitoring services to minimize recording gaps (30%), and ▲ additional general CCTV (9%).
Moreover, random assaults and terrorist acts targeting unspecified individuals are occurring within residential facilities, increasing the demand for residential security. In the survey, 79% of respondents replied, 'I believe violent crimes are increasing in residential areas.' When asked, 'Are you willing to introduce security products into your home to strengthen residential security?' 55% of respondents expressed their intention to implement them.
'Security solutions desired for homes' included ▲ CCTV at the front door (59%), ▲ unmanned security systems (26%), and ▲ indoor CCTV (10%) in that order.
Additionally, facial recognition solutions are rapidly spreading in various aspects of daily life. When asked, 'What do you think is the most common solution among big tech-based security products?', 43% of respondents identified 'facial recognition solutions.'
As facial recognition technology becomes more widespread, counterfeit face attacks seeking to bypass it are also increasing. ES ONE explained, 'Counterfeit face attacks and defense technologies are like the relationship between viruses and vaccines; as facial forgery technology emerges, the facial recognition solutions that identify them must also be advanced.' They added, 'As counterfeit face attacks become increasingly sophisticated, the continuous upgrade of facial recognition solutions is also essential.'
