U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 28th (local time) that women are "people who can have children in specific circumstances." This comment came in relation to the measures he implemented banning transgender individuals from participating in women's sports.

During an event held in the Oval Office, President Trump responded to the question, "What is a woman?" by saying, "A woman is someone much smarter than a Namsung," and called the issue of Namsung participating in women's sports "completely ridiculous." He added, "It is very insulting and unfair to women."

President Trump also stated, "A woman is someone who doesn’t even give men a chance to succeed," adding that "women have been treated very poorly in many cases."

Earlier, on the 26th, President Trump emphasized his support for in vitro fertilization (IVF) during a celebration of "Women's Month" held at the White House. He also mentioned in late October, just before last year's U.S. elections, that "whether women like it or not, we will protect women."
