U.S. President Donald Trump answered "no" on the 28th (local time) when asked during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin if he discussed the "purchase of weapons from North Korea." After holding the inauguration ceremony of the New Jersey attorney general in the Oval Office, President Trump said he had "not specifically discussed" the issue of purchasing weapons from Putin and Iran and North Korea when asked about it. When reporters asked again if this was not an important issue, he noted, "There are many important issues," mentioning the situation of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
Earlier, President Trump had a currency conversation with President Putin on the 18th, following discussions last month, where they talked about a partial ceasefire regarding the Ukraine war. President Trump stated regarding the ceasefire, "I think we are making progress" and added, "There is a lot of ill will between the parties involved."
Regarding Iran supplying drones to Russia, President Trump noted, "We will see what happens with that issue" and added, "Iran makes a lot of drones and makes effective drones." He further stated, "Iran is high on my watch list." Mentioning a recent letter urging nuclear negotiations sent to Iran, he said, "My top preference is to resolve things well with Iran."
President Trump has insisted that the Danish autonomous region of Greenland should be incorporated into the United States. In this regard, he stated, "We need Greenland for international security," adding, "There are Russian and Chinese ships everywhere in the waters around Greenland. We will not leave this as it is."
Regarding the request for assistance from the Myanmar military government for large-scale earthquake damage recovery, he said, "We have already spoken with that country and will help."
