Sony Group appointed Hiroki Dotoki as the new chief executive officer (CEO). Kenichiro Yoshida, the current chairman and CEO, will focus on the chairmanship.

According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun and Kyodo News on the 29th, Sony Group announced an executive appointment that allows President Dotoki to also serve as CEO starting April 1. Nikkei reported that "this CEO change at Sony Group is the first in seven years" and noted plans to concentrate power in President Dotoki to push forward an entertainment-centered growth strategy.

The newly appointed CEO Dotoki graduated from Waseda University in 1987 and joined Sony, primarily working in the financial institutional sector. He also led the establishment of Sony Bank in 2001. He assumed the position of president in 2023 and is also serving as chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO).
