President Donald Trump said he would declare a "national emergency" at the southern border with Mexico, which has caused the influx of illegal immigrants.

After being officially sworn in as the 47th president through an inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 21, local time, Trump made this statement during his inaugural address.

President Trump declared that he would deploy troops to the southern border to detain all illegal entrants.

He also noted that he would reinstate the policy known as "Remain in Mexico," which forces immigrants to remain in Mexico until they obtain legal status through litigation.
