Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 26th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a strategic partnership with the space launch startup Perry Aerospace to secure future space transportation technologies.

The two companies agreed to share technical and commercial capabilities in the development of future space transportation technologies and related business areas through this agreement.

Since 2022, Hanwha Aerospace has been participating as a system integrator for the national launch vehicle 'Nuri' in collaboration with the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), contributing to the development of engines and test facilities, and the fourth launch of Nuri is scheduled for the second half of this year. In 2024, it was also selected as a private system integrator for the 'next-generation launch vehicle' that will launch a lunar lander in 2032.

Perry Aerospace has technological capabilities, including its self-developed small launch vehicle 'Blue Whale,' propulsion systems, and carbon composite structures.

A Hanwha Aerospace official said, “We expect to secure space transportation technologies with global economic and commercial viability in fields such as launch vehicles and eco-friendly space propulsion systems through the synergy of the two companies.”
