Hyundai Rotem announced on the 20th (local time) that it will participate in the "2025 Smart City Summit & Expo" (hereinafter referred to as 2025 SCSE) taking place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, from the 20th to the 22nd. Hyundai Rotem will focus on promoting comprehensive hydrogen solutions based on Taiwan's hydrogen strategy and Kaohsiung's carbon neutrality policy at this exhibition.

SCSE is a leading smart city exhibition in Taiwan that has been held annually since its inaugural event in 2014, showcasing related technologies and products while hosting events. This year's exhibition will specifically address themes of digital and green innovation, such as smart healthcare, 5G mobile intelligent Internet of Things, carbon neutrality innovation, and eco-friendly transportation.

Hyundai Rotem will introduce its hydrogen business, which is diversifying in line with its comprehensive hydrogen solution "HTWO Grid" (H2 Grid) that provides customized packages optimized for various environmental characteristics of customers across all stages of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization, under its hydrogen value chain business brand "HTWO" (H2) of Hyundai Motor Group.

Hyundai Rotem will explain the resource recycling process of producing hydrogen using biogas as fuel and utilizing it at charging stations through a DIO (Diorama) exhibition. It will also display models of hydrogen-powered trams to introduce visitors to sustainable future mobility visions. According to Hyundai Rotem, it aims to help visitors understand the core contents, including the development history, design, and technological capabilities of hydrogen-electric trams, through video media in line with its 2050 carbon neutrality roadmap.

Taiwan's National Development Council announced the "2050 Carbon Neutral Hydrogen Core Strategy Action Plan" in 2023, establishing medium- to long-term policy tasks for developing hydrogen energy technology, expanding the supply chain, and building infrastructure. In particular, Kaohsiung is Taiwan's representative heavy chemical industry city, which completed the installation of hydrogen charging stations last year and is promoting a transition to an eco-friendly energy industrial city by gradually replacing all buses with electric and hydrogen buses by 2030.

A representative from Hyundai Rotem said, "We have secured a portfolio that encompasses the entire hydrogen business, from production to utilization," and noted, "Through this exhibition, we will demonstrate not only our competitiveness in the hydrogen business but also our capabilities as a future leader in hydrogen energy technology."
