Kim Hyun-jung (40), the eldest daughter of Kim Jang-yeon, chairman of Samhwa Paints, joins the board for the first time as vice president (head of the management support division).

Samhwa Paints will hold its regular shareholders' meeting on the 20th and appoint Vice President Kim as a new internal director. Accordingly, third-generation management at Samhwa Paints has begun in earnest. Vice President Kim is the daughter of Chairman Kim Jang-yeon, the son of the late founder Kim Bok-kyu.

Vice President Kim is a certified public accountant (CPA) and attorney, having qualifications in accounting and law, and was appointed head of the management support division at Samhwa Paints at the end of last year. Vice President Kim is expected to focus on strengthening the foundation of Samhwa Paints and boosting its revenue.

Samhwa Paints recorded a revenue of 628.3 billion won and an operating profit of 18.9 billion won last year, representing decreases of 0.4% and 26.7%, respectively, compared to 2023.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kim holds 0.04% equity in Samhwa Paints. Chairman Kim Jang-yeon, who holds 25.7% equity, is the largest shareholder.
