HD Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 18th that it will release a renewal of 16 types of engine oil 'Hyundai Xtear Gasoline G Series' for gasoline vehicles.
This product has been developed to meet the latest global standards from the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Lubricants Standardization Approval Committee (ILSAC), which are scheduled to be announced at the end of this month. This is the first domestic product to satisfy these standards.
API and ILSAC are organizations that set international standards for automotive lubricants. The two organizations plan to announce the 'API SQ' and 'ILSAC GF-7' standards at the end of March, which significantly strengthen criteria such as piston cleanliness, prevention of abnormal fuel combustion, improved fuel economy, and reduced exhaust emissions. The existing standards, 'API SP' and 'ILSAC GF-6,' which have been in effect since 2020, will expire in March 2026.
HD Hyundai Oilbank underwent about a year of development to comply with the new standards. To reduce friction within the engine, a friction modifier has been introduced to protect the engine and enhance fuel efficiency. Additionally, a new seal protection system has been added to prevent engine oil leakage.
Jung Tae-o, head of the lubricants business division, noted, “This product is developed considering future exhaust gas regulations that will be expanded to gasoline vehicles,” and added, “We will continue to actively expand into export markets by strengthening product competitiveness through intense technological development.”
