The new Golf is a facelift of the 8th generation model launched in 2019. It features an overall appearance that inherits the heritage of the Golf while having refined proportions and a dynamic silhouette. It includes next-generation lighting technology and an infotainment system optimized for convenience.

The front now features the first-ever ‘illuminated’ logo on the Golf. The lighting in the shape of the Volkswagen emblem and the radiator grill lighting come together to create a modern sensation. All models are equipped as standard with LED headlamps, daytime running lights, rear combination lamps, and interior lighting in 30 colors.

The next-generation MIB4 infotainment system has also been installed. The infotainment display in the center between the driver's and passenger's seats has increased in size from 10 inches to 12.9 inches. A voice support system, 'Voice Enhancer,' has also been included to assist communication between the driver and rear passengers.

For driving assistance features, it includes Travel Assist, which helps with acceleration, braking, and steering on long journeys to reduce driving fatigue, and adaptive cruise control that maintains a distance from the vehicle ahead. The front collision prevention assistance feature operates at speeds of up to 210 km/h while stopped.

The vehicle features a 2.0L TDI engine combined with a 7-speed DSG transmission, delivering a maximum output of 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36.7 kg.m. The certified combined fuel economy is 17.3 km/L (15.2 km/L in the city, 20.8 km/L on the highway), boasting top-level fuel efficiency among compact segment models. It can cover over 860 km combined on a single tank and more than 1000 km during highway driving.

The prices by trim are 40,070,000 won for the Premium and 43,960,000 won for the Prestige. Even with the model change, the price increases are limited to 250,000 won and 2,560,000 won, respectively. Volkswagen Korea plans to support vehicle registration fees of 2 million won for customers purchasing the new Golf.

The Golf is Volkswagen's best-selling model, with over 37 million units sold globally, marking its 50th anniversary last year. In South Korea, since the establishment of Volkswagen Korea in 2005, it has surpassed cumulative sales of 50,000 units as the first imported hatchback over a span of 19 years until last year.
