Park Chang-sook was officially inaugurated as the 11th president of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association.
The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association announced it held the '10th and 11th Inauguration Ceremony of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association' on the 12th at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises in Yeouido, Seoul.
The association is the only legally recognized women’s economic organization in Korea, representing 3.26 million women-owned businesses, with the headquarters and 19 local branches and more than 9,500 members active.
In her inaugural speech, Park noted, “Facing low growth, low birth rates, and a prolonged domestic recession, I will take the lead so that women-owned businesses can drive Korea's crisis recovery and growth,” adding, “The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association will plant new seeds of hope for 3.26 million women-owned businesses and the Korean economy.”
Park presented five key initiatives: strengthening the association's representation, expanding global entry for women-owned businesses, fostering women-focused technology-based industries, improving support systems for women-owned business development, and enhancing cooperation among women-owned businesses.
The ceremony was attended by Minister Oh Youngju of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as Kwon Young-se, chair of the People Power Party's emergency response committee, and lawmakers including Na Kyung-won, Jeong Seong-ho, Lee In-sun, Jo Eun-hee, Shin Dong-wook, Kang Myeong-gu, and Oh Se-hee, along with Han Mukyeong, Ombudsman for Industrial Convergence Promotion (the 8th president of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association), and over 400 guests and members.
Minister Oh Youngju urged, in her congratulatory speech, that she hopes “Chairman Park Chang-sook and the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, along with women's economic organizations, will take the lead in driving new growth and leaps forward.”
On this day, the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association appointed former President Lee Jeong-han as honorary president and presented a plaque and commemorative album, expressing gratitude for her contributions to the development of the association and women-owned businesses during her term.
