On the 27th, Hyundai Rotem announced that it held a ceremony to commemorate the arrival of the first batch of vehicles at the Green Line depot located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, on the 26th. The event was attended by local dignitaries, including Chang Shan-jung, the mayor of Taoyuan City, and Lee Yong-bae, president of Hyundai Rotem, along with government officials and representatives from related agencies.

The vehicles that arrived in Taiwan on that day were two cars from the first batch of 80 units for the unmanned Light Rail Transit project on the Taoyuan Green Line, which arrived three months earlier than the previously scheduled delivery in March next year. Hyundai Rotem plans to deliver all vehicles by 2029, starting with the delivery of this first batch.

The Taoyuan Green Line unmanned Light Rail Transit is the first urban railroad rolling stock being implemented in Taoyuan City. After the opening of Phase 2 in 2029, it will connect the city center with Taoyuan International Airport. Hyundai Rotem received a turnkey contract for the supply of the unmanned light rail system, which includes vehicles, communications, and automatic fare collection systems, in a bid awarded by the Taoyuan City government in 2018.

The Taoyuan Green Line unmanned Light Rail Transit operates at a speed of 80 km/h and utilizes the Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS), developed in-house by Hyundai Rotem. The TCMS allows operational staff at the depot to effectively analyze and manage vehicle conditions, fault information, and high-efficiency operating patterns.

Hyundai Rotem aims to successfully execute the project through to final delivery to achieve favorable evaluations for additional local projects.

A Hyundai Rotem official noted, "We are committed to thoroughly managing the quality of the vehicles and rail systems, as well as the project schedule, to supply high-quality rolling stock on time," adding, "By delivering modern rolling stock, we will provide Taoyuan citizens with a convenient riding experience."
