Carrot General Insurance announced on the 24th that it has established the "Carrot Electric Vehicle Emergency Service Special Clause" to enhance emergency services for Hyundai Motor electric vehicles. This special clause applies to contracts that become effective starting April 1 of this year.

Electric vehicles have relatively limited charging infrastructure compared to internal combustion engine vehicles. In particular, if the battery is discharged, it is necessary to use towing services to reach the charging station, which takes a long time and incurs additional expenses.

To alleviate these inconveniences, Carrot General Insurance has introduced a service that not only provides the existing towing service but also charges the drive battery on site when the electric vehicle battery is discharged. Genesis vehicles, including those from Hyundai Motor, can receive charging services up to a total of two times (with a maximum of 15kw per time) during the policy period if the drive battery is discharged and the vehicle cannot operate.

If it is difficult to operate the vehicle with just on-site charging, the existing emergency towing service is also provided. The vehicle will be moved to the nearest charging station or service center. However, if the towing distance limit specified in the insurance policy is exceeded, an additional expense may be incurred for the excess distance.

Both individual and business insurance subscribers can join the special clause. A representative from Carrot General Insurance noted, "This special clause is aimed at solving one of the biggest inconveniences faced by electric vehicle drivers: the issue of battery depletion."
