Lee Jae-ryang, who worked as the head of the alternative investment team at the National Pension Service Fund Management Headquarters, has moved to Shinhwa Asset Management as the head of the alternative investment division.
According to the financial investment industry on the 17th, this new Deputy Minister has been reporting to Shinhwa Asset Management since the 7th of this month. This Deputy Minister transitioned from Shinhan Investment Corp. to the National Pension Service Fund Management Headquarters in 2015, marking a return to Shinhan after 10 years.
This Deputy Minister primarily built a career in alternative investments at the National Pension Service Fund Management Headquarters. The National Pension Service has contributed to recording an average annual revenue of more than 15% in private venture capital investments and over 10% in private loans since 2018. In recognition of these contributions, the Deputy Minister received a government award for the development of the National Pension Fund last year.
As of the end of November last year, the National Pension Service's fund reserves were estimated at 1,185 trillion won. Of this, alternative investments accounted for 190 trillion 660 billion won (16%).
This Deputy Minister is reportedly responsible for the alternative investment sector of Shinhwa Life's funds at Shinhwa Asset Management.
