Through 'The Heartwarming Brother', Lee Byung-hun shared behind-the-scenes stories of his debut along with laughable episodes.

On that day, Shin Dong-yup started off by saying to Lee Byung-hun, "You really messed up some early films back in the day," to which Lee Byung-hun replied, "About three works didn't go well in a row, and after that, I wasn't cast." Reflecting on the lack of opportunities, he added, "With the fourth, I received some recognition with Jang Doyoun in 'The Wind Chimes of My Heart', and later, it recorded a historic box office success with 'Joint Security Area', leading to the introduction of Lee Byung-hun as a box office star."
When asked about his acting career, Lee Byung-hun said, "My mom's friend told me to become an actor. One day, there was an audition for KBS, and I casually tried out and unexpectedly got accepted, starting my career somewhat accidentally." He added, "It was the first time I had lines during a broadcasting audition."
While doing so, Lee Byung-hun noted that he got to know Shin Dong-yup, saying, "The actor I worked with on my first drama was Kim Jeong-kyun, who graduated from Seoul Arts College. I saw Dong-yup doing comedy on stage back then when he was a student, and I thought, 'All of it seems like a copy.' Dong-yup took all the interesting stories from me. I was surprised at how he could use them like that," which made Shin Dong-yup burst into laughter.
On that day, Dong-yup also mentioned an anecdote about Lee Byung-hun mistakenly finding the wrong room at a friend's funeral. Lee Byung-hun said, "It was really to the point where I couldn't sleep. I saw the memorial photo and thought, 'That's strange. They said it was a father's funeral; it must have been his mother's instead.'" He then recounted, "One of the mourners said, 'Perhaps you came to the wrong place...' and I realized, 'Ah, I've come in by mistake.'"
Lee Byung-hun said, "I apologized and turned red, trying to leave, but I saw a box for condolence money," which is why he put in money. When Shin Dong-yup added, "It was a significant amount since it was for a close acquaintance," Lee Byung-hun shared a story that made everyone laugh, saying, "Fortunately, I found it in the condolence box after that," noting that later, one of the mourners correctly directed him to the proper room.
