The ex-boyfriend of the late actor Kim Sae-ron, identified as A, claimed that the actor’s death was not related to fellow actor Kim Soo-hyun.

On the 25th, a media outlet exclusively released an interview with Kim Sae-ron’s ex-boyfriend, A. In the interview, A argued that the actor’s death was due to a man identified as B, known as the ‘New York man,’ who married in the U.S. at the beginning of the year, not because of Kim Soo-hyun. To ensure the credibility of A’s report and testimony, A even prepared a statement of facts.

Through the interview, A revealed text messages sent by Kim Sae-ron’s ‘New York husband,’ B, and those sent to A by Kim Sae-ron. A claimed that after marriage, Kim Sae-ron sought to lean on A for communication during difficult times, which B became aware of, leading to B confiscating Kim Sae-ron’s phone and verbally abusing Kim Sae-ron.

Regarding how Kim Sae-ron ended up marrying B, Kim stated, ‘At first, there was no expression, and you were always having hard days, and I was too lonely to bear the fact that I had no one to rely on, so it’s true I was distracted. I needed someone to listen to my stories and solve things for me. But that was temporary. After that, B threatened to spread KakaoTalk content and photos, hacked my Instagram to post pictures, hit, and swore at me. It was terrifying. That’s why I couldn’t break up, and I was afraid this would affect you.’

A also presented claims that directly contradicted the background of the actor’s death according to the bereaved family’s claims. Previously, the bereaved family alleged that YouTuber C and actor Kim Soo-hyun were the reasons for the deceased’s passing. They pointed to the ‘grooming allegations’ against Kim Soo-hyun, the repayment of 700 million won borrowed for handling the incident at the former agency Gold Medalist, and the release of malicious videos by YouTuber C as the background for the death.

In response, A claimed that Kim Sae-ron struggled with the family’s indifference, leading to feelings of despair. Specifically, A claimed that in 2024, when Kim Sae-ron needed emergency surgery, the family didn’t show up despite being contacted, so A stayed by her side in the hospital.

A said, ‘The fact that no one in the family knew about Kim Sae-ron’s marriage to B proves that there was almost no communication with the daughter. Yet, after neglecting her so much that they almost severed ties, they are now revisiting the fact that she dated a famous actor years ago, which can’t be explained without other motives or purposes.’

Meanwhile, Kim Sae-ron’s family claimed through the YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute’ that the deceased dated Kim Soo-hyun for about six years, from when the deceased was a minor until turning 21. In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s side refuted that they dated from summer 2019 to fall 2020, and it was not during the deceased’s minor years.

The bereaved family also claimed that the deceased struggled with a video that YouTuber C uploaded on a personal channel while alive. In response, C claimed that Kim Sae-ron married a person working for a large company in the U.S. and had a miscarriage. The family stated, regarding rumors of marriage and miscarriage, ‘We never heard or knew about Sae-ron getting married.’
