The 'National Singing Contest' has decided to suspend its broadcast due to the aftermath of the forest fire in Ulsan, Ulju County.

On the 23rd, KBS1 announced that the episode titled 'National Singing Contest - Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju County', which was scheduled to air at 12:10 p.m., would be suspended.

It was subsequently reported that during this time slot, 'KBS News Special Report' and the previous evening's aired current affairs program 'Donghaeng' were substituted, and the episode 'National Singing Contest - Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju County' is expected to air next week.

This broadcast suspension is due to the forest fire that has continued for two days since the 22nd in Ulju, where the episode is set. In Ulju County, evacuation orders have been issued for four villages, and significant damage has occurred. The forest authorities declared the highest response level of three at 9 a.m.

Nam Hee-seok also announced via social media that 'the National Singing Contest episode from Ulsan City, Ulju County will not be aired today.'

He further noted, 'Forest fires are occurring all over the country. With the dry conditions and strong winds, it is difficult to extinguish them. Unfortunately, there are people who have lost their lives.' He added, 'It seems that most forest fires are caused by people. Accidental fires while mowing grass, cigarette butts from hikers, burning rice paddy ridges, burning trash... I don't want to believe it, but it could be arson. I desperately hope it rains.'
