Despite the court's ruling that prohibits independent activities, NewJeans members did not lose their determination.

On the 21st, Minji, Hanni, Daniel, Haerin, and HAEIN stated through their NJZ SNS channel, "Today, there was a court's provisional decision. We at NJZ respect the court's decision. However, the decision insufficiently takes into account that the members' trust in ADOR has completely shattered."

They said, "We plan to contest today’s provisional decision through an appeal process, and we will do our utmost to supplement evidence in that process. Moreover, a main lawsuit confirming the validity of the exclusive contract between ADOR and the members is also underway, and we intend to clarify once again that the contract was lawfully terminated during the scheduled trial on April 3."

On that day, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50 (led by Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) accepted and ruled in favor of ADOR's request to prohibit activities against the five members of NewJeans for the 'preservation of agency status and contract signing.' It stated that they should not engage in entertainment activities through themselves (including legal representatives) or third parties without ADOR's prior approval or consent.

The effective period lasts until the first trial judgment on the lawsuit regarding the validity of the exclusive contract that ADOR filed against NewJeans. It was also communicated that the related litigation costs must be borne by the five members. This provisional ruling restricts NewJeans members' activities with NJZ.

Nevertheless, they insisted, "We, NJZ, reiterate that we cannot affiliate with the agency that has insulted our dignity and belittled our achievements, separate from any monetary issues," and appealed, "Please continue to watch over us and provide your support."

Below is the full statement from the members.

Hello, this is NJZ.

Today, there was a court's provisional decision. We at NJZ respect the court's decision. However, we believe that the decision insufficiently considers the fact that the members' trust in ADOR has completely shattered. Due to the nature of the expedited preservation hearing, a decision was made roughly two weeks after the hearing date on March 7, 2025, and sufficient opportunity to clarify specific facts in court was not secured. Additionally, due to information asymmetry, while ADOR and HYBE possess all the information regarding the members' entertainment activities, the members are in a situation where they must contact related parties individually to request information. There is also pressure and retaliation associated with becoming involved in a lawsuit, which has resulted in many being unable to cooperate.

We plan to contest today's provisional decision through an appeal process, and we aim to supplement evidence in that process to the best of our ability. Above all, until the termination of the exclusive contract, the members faithfully fulfilled the contract without any fault, while ADOR and HYBE, behind them, have continuously treated the members unfairly and discriminatorily, leading to a breach of trust. It is merely a matter of time before the truth becomes clear.

The provisional ruling is a temporary decision.

A main lawsuit confirming the validity of the exclusive contract is also ongoing between ADOR and the members, and we intend to clarify once again during the scheduled trial on April 3 that the contract was lawfully terminated. Unlike the provisional procedure, in the main case, we expect that necessary evidence can be utilized more freely under civil procedure law, which will greatly reinforce the evidence supporting the members' claims.

The NJZ members are going through a tough time, but they are striving to overcome this situation calmly and resiliently, considering the many people who continue to support them and NJZ. Above all, NJZ places great importance on the promise made with fans and intends to do its utmost regarding the remaining litigation process to communicate with fans joyfully. As we have repeatedly stated before, we at NJZ reiterate that we cannot affiliate with the agency that has insulted our dignity and belittled our achievements, separate from any monetary issues. The reason we are proceeding with the lawsuit is to protect our value and human rights.

Meanwhile, it was decided after careful consideration to participate in the complex concert scheduled for March 23 to prevent undue harm to the fans who are looking forward to the concert and many stakeholders.

Please continue to watch over us and provide your support.
