Director Bong Joon-ho, who revealed his new work 'Mickey 17' after 'Parasite,' met with Arena Homme Plus.

The acclaimed director Bong Joon-ho shared insights into how he transformed his eighth feature film into a Hollywood blockbuster and talked about how he built his own cinematic world differently from the original.

Regarding the character Mickey, who differs from the original, he responded, "From the very beginning, I thought Mickey had to be part of the 'working class.' I wanted him to be in extreme situations as a laborer specializing in industrial accidents, and I wanted him to come from a back alley or the bottom rather than an intellectual background."

He also opened up about what is known as his first feature animation on the theme of the deep sea, saying, "I've decided on a working title. It's 'The Valley.' Most of the paperwork is now being communicated under this title."

Director Bong Joon-ho, who revealed 'Mickey 17,' is currently working on his ninth project 'The Valley' (working title), aiming for completion in 2026 and worldwide release in 2027.
