KBS2 "The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears"'s Lee Soon-sil competes in a taste contest of "North Korean Food vs Gangnam Food" against Jung Jun-ha, who operates three stores in Gangnam.
KBS 2TV "The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears" (directed by Ahn Sang-eun, hereafter referred to as "The Boss's Ears") is a program for self-reflection and perspective-taking by bosses of South Korea to create a workplace that makes work enjoyable. The previous episode, the 297th episode, recorded a peak viewership rating of 7.5% and a 2049 rating of 1.6%, maintaining its position as the No. 1 entertainment program in its time slot for 146 consecutive weeks, according to Nielsen Korea.
The upcoming 298th episode of "The Boss's Ears," airing on the 23rd (Sunday), will feature Lee Soon-sil revealing a new menu to Jung Jun-ha as she dreams of opening a restaurant in Gangnam. Particularly, about Jung Jun-ha's evaluation of the new menu as "a healthy taste," Lee Soon-sil responds by saying, "Korean food is spicy, salty, sour, and stimulating," drawing attention.
Lee Soon-sil presents a special new menu to capture the taste of Gangnam, featuring soybean paste mixed noodles made with freshly made acorn noodles and hot Pyongyang cold noodles topped with savory mung bean pancakes, making mouths water. However, after taking a sip of the broth, Jung Jun-ha bluntly evaluates it as "incredibly healthy in taste." Confessing her anxious feelings by saying it felt like "taking an exam," Lee Soon-sil humorously declares her intention to stop liking Jung Jun-ha by saying, "I can't stand seeing Jung Jun-ha anymore, I’m going to start liking Park Myung-soo instead."
In particular, Lee Soon-sil states, "Korean food is too spicy, salty, sweet, sour, and stimulating," targeting the intense taste of South Korea, then argues, "Our pure-blooded nation should have a pure taste." However, Jung Jun-ha, a 28-year veteran in the food industry, responds, "North Korean food is too bland," stating, "This food needs some dipping sauce," and after generously adding the dipping sauce, he expresses great satisfaction.
The question remains whether Lee Soon-sil's special new menu, "Pyongyang Cold Noodles" and "Acorn Noodles," can win against Jung Jun-ha's signature dish, "Gobdoritang," in the competition, gathering attention for the broadcast of "The Boss's Ears."
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV "The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears" airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
