The performance of Sul KyungGu in Disney+'s original medical thriller series 'Hyperknife' is truly perfect.
On the 19th, 'Hyperknife' was released for the first time. Sul KyungGu plays Choi DeokHee, the world's best neurosurgeon with exceptional skills, who is also the cruel teacher that once rejected his most cherished student, SeoOk, portrayed by Park EunBin.
Sul KyungGu overwhelmed viewers with a fierce gaze that conveyed charisma as he entered the operating room from his first appearance. While usually showing a professional and cold demeanor as a professor, he also displayed a pitiful side as he struggled with illness and suffered.
In contrast, the dramatic shifts in DeokHee’s emotions when talking about or facing SeoOk drew attention. Through DeokHee, Sul KyungGu delicately expressed calm emotions while also powerfully conveying the intense surge of feelings, effectively maintaining the drama's flow and weight.
In particular, Sul KyungGu's chilling gaze ending in episode 2, facing Park EunBin who is handling a corpse, is enough to explode the viewers' dopamine until the very end.
Earlier, Park EunBin mentioned about working with Sul KyungGu, saying, "It was my first time meeting Sul KyungGu, but every scene together was pure dopamine. I received good stimulation from each scene, and it was an honor to meet a senior actor." Additionally, Park ByeongEun noted, "Sul KyungGu's voice, emotions, and gaze make every actor fully trust him. It’s a great fortune and honor to act alongside him."
As evidenced by the testimonies of fellow actors, just from the released episodes 1 and 2, Sul KyungGu, portraying Choi DeokHee, demonstrated optimized acting with every expression, gaze, voice, dialogue, and breath, leading viewers to become immersed in 'Hyperknife.'
Meanwhile, 'Hyperknife' can be watched through Disney+.
