Yoo Seung-jun conveyed his feelings ahead of his third administrative lawsuit.
On the 20th, Yoo Seung-jun posted on his social media, "This afternoon, the trial regarding the Minister of Justice and the Los Angeles Consulate starts. Everyone should be equal before the law. Is that really the case? Am I exhausted? I wanted to give up many times, but because I love, I couldn't give up. Thus, 23 years have passed."
In the video, Yoo Seung-jun said, "There are many noisy and heart-wrenching incidents in the entertainment industry. It feels like we are living in a fierce and scary society. My heart aches," and noted, "There aren't any particularly good solutions. There can be unfair and tough situations, but what can be done? One has no choice but to stand their ground and survive. It's regrettable for juniors who have also faced heart-wrenching events. So, one must keep their wits about them and live on. To survive is to be able to smile later."
Along with this, Yoo Seung-jun added tags such as "two victories," "entry denial," "visa denial," "meaningless," "all men are equal before the law," "may it be upheld," and "it will be okay, South Korea."
On the afternoon of this day, the 5th Administrative Division of the Seoul Administrative Court will conduct the first pleading date for Yoo Seung-jun's lawsuit against the Los Angeles Consulate and the Ministry of Justice, seeking cancellation of the visa issuance denial and confirmation of the non-existence of the entry ban decision.
This lawsuit is the third administrative lawsuit filed against the government, following those in 2015 and 2020.
Yoo Seung-jun debuted in 1997 and was loved for numerous hit songs, but he acquired U.S. citizenship before his enlistment in 2002, leading to a controversy over evading military service that resulted in his entry ban.
After not being able to set foot on Korean soil for several years, he applied for the Overseas Korean Visa (F-4) in 2015 to enter the country, but was denied. He then asserted that the entry ban was unjust and filed the first lawsuit for cancellation of the visa issuance denial. After a prolonged court battle, Yoo Seung-jun finally won. If the government issues a visa according to the court's ruling, Yoo Seung-jun will be able to step on Korean soil after more than 20 years.
However, the Los Angeles Consulate continued to deny the visa issuance, and Yoo Seung-jun has been pursuing legal battles.
