Chef Lu Ching Lai evaluated his son's food as lacking value.

On the 18th, Chef Lu Ching Lai and his son Yeomin, who serves as the sous chef at his restaurant, appeared on TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me' (hereafter referred to as 'Dad and Me').

As the busy lunch hour began to settle down, Lu Ching Lai took a sigh of relief. While everyone was resting, Yeomin worked hard on developing the pork noodle soup menu. Yeomin focused on demonstrating his skills since it was the first evaluation he received from Lu Ching Lai.

Yeomin explained, “If the chef says something, I will do it. I try to do well. I don’t know why, but it always turns out this way.” Yeomin went to Lu Ching Lai with the finished dish.

Lu Ching Lai sat Yeomin next to him and inspected each ingredient. Finally, after taking a bite to taste, Lu Ching Lai immediately put down his chopsticks. He remarked, “As I get older, I dislike strong flavors.” Having not eaten much, Lu Ching Lai pushed the bowl aside and finished his meal.

Yeomin stated, “You should point out what’s wrong. He doesn't give praise; he just keeps criticizing. I'm curious about his opinion. I just felt bitter.”

In an interview, Lu Ching Lai said, “It was not worthy of praise. It’s a failure. The meat should be thicker, and the other ingredients need to be made to proper specifications. One must not be careless,” evaluating that it did not meet his standards.
