Park Jin-young and Noh Jeong-ui finally broke the 'law of death' and wrote a happy ending by saving each other.

The final episode of Channel A's weekend drama 'Witch,' aired on 15th, continued the story of detective Jung-hyuk (Lim Jae-hyeok), who was tracking down the missing Dong-jin (Park Jin-young).

Jung-hyuk handed Mi-jeong (Noh Jeong-ui) the report on the 'denial of the witch's existence' that Dong-jin had failed to deliver 10 years ago. He also informed her that Dong-jin tried to break the 'law of death' to find a way to love her, regardless of whether she's a 'witch.' Knowing Dong-jin's feelings, who had dedicated himself to her for many years, Mi-jeong finally left for Hallstatt, a small village in Austria, where she had long dreamed of finding him.

Following Jung-hyuk's advice that the answer was in the problem, Dong-jin was waiting for Mi-jeong there. Finally reunited, Dong-jin confessed, "Park Mi-jeong, I love you." However, dark clouds and lightning appeared, heightening the sense of unease. At that moment, Mi-jeong grabbed Dong-jin, who was about to distance himself, saying, "This is just my heart." The subtitle of the final episode, 'the last variable,' was that when people who liked Mi-jeong left her side, accidents occurred, but nothing happened when they were together.

Eventually, Mi-jeong confessed, "I love you too, Lee Dong-jin," and the sky gradually calmed. Although there was uncertainty about other variables, they decided to move toward each other despite the anxiety. Finally, the two chose the path of being together, breaking the 'law of death.' Their beautiful love of salvation concluded the well-made mystery romance and left a deep resonance.

# Park Jin-young and Noh Jeong-ui deliver high-density performances that capture the essence of emotion.

Park Jin-young and Noh Jeong-ui meticulously expressed the emotional ties of the characters in 'Witch,' maximizing the immersion of the drama. Park Jin-young convincingly portrayed the process of trying to break the 'law of death' to love Mi-jeong, while taking risks. Especially with just restrained gazes and subtle changes in expression, he conveyed Dong-jin's emotions, capturing the urgency of wanting to save a person beyond a simple romance.

Noh Jeong-ui also delicately depicted the lonely inner world of Mi-jeong trapped in the tower. The process of Mi-jeong, who had no choice but to isolate herself, gradually changing and realizing her feelings while coming out into the world, resonated even deeper through her detailed performance. The high-density performances of the two actors enriched the distinctive emotions of 'Witch,' naturally permeating to the viewers and creating memorable scenes that will linger in their hearts.

# Director Kim Tae-kyun's gripping direction maximizes the completeness of the mystery romance.

Director Kim Tae-kyun touched the viewers' emotions with a sensuous direction that utilizes the beauty of blank spaces. The tightly woven narrative of love and salvation centered around the mystery of the 'law of death' heightened the immersion of the drama. The narrative and visual beauty created by Director Kim Tae-kyun completed the atmosphere of 'Witch' more deeply, while preserving the weighty message of the original work by writer Kang Pool, quickly drawing the viewers into Dong-jin and Mi-jeong's story. The direction that maximized the mysterious yet emotional atmosphere embodied the unique color of 'Witch' and became a key factor in establishing it as a well-made mystery romance.

# A meaningful message about social stigma and the essence of salvation.

'Witch' sharply delved into how easily society stigmatizes and isolates individuals through its mysterious setting of the 'law of death.' Mi-jeong became a witch not because she possessed supernatural powers but because of the prejudice and fear created by people. The stigma built up by that rumor completely isolated her from society and may have caused someone to be hurt today, making her feel guilty.

However, Dong-jin was unfazed even when all data pointed to her as a 'witch' in the process of trying to prove that she was not. He merely tried to help Mi-jeong live her life fully and struggled to find a way to love her, ultimately discovering the law.

Dong-jin saved not only Mi-jeong. He also investigated the incidents surrounding Jung-hyuk, who was also followed by the 'law of death.' Like Mi-jeong, Jung-hyuk had lived in isolation, vaguely aware that he was the cause of many accidents around him since childhood but not knowing the details. It was through Dong-jin's uncovering of the 'law of death' that he could open his heart to Eun-sil (Jang Hee-ryeong), who has a fondness for him.

Thus, 'Witch' shows that 'witches' like Mi-jeong and Jung-hyuk exist in reality and deeply portrays how the courage of one person reaching out to them can exert great power. Throughout this process, it prompted reflection on the perspectives we easily defined and ignored, and that lingering impact culminated in a remarkable conclusion.
