Actor Song Il-gook suffered because he is too handsome.

On the 9th, appearing as a guest on TV Joseon's 'Heo Young-man's Meal Tour', Song Il-gook said, "I went for musical auditions. I was mostly rejected. The only one I passed was 'Mamma Mia.'" Heo Young-man was surprised, asking if the great Song Il-gook was going around for auditions.

In response, Song Il-gook added, "Even for 'Billy Elliot,' I attended the audition because the producer strongly encouraged me. I naturally thought I would pass. It was a role of a coal miner, but they said, 'He's too handsome for a miner,' and I was rejected," which drew laughter.

Song Il-gook, known as the 'Dad of Long Live the Republic of Korea', successfully made his musical debut in 2016 as Julian Marsh in '42nd Street' on Broadway. Since then, he has consistently been on stage meeting audiences.
