Comedian Lee Soo-ji's "Daechi mom parody" video has spilled over to actress Han Ga-in, as lawyers expressed that the video is satire rather than ridicule.

Lee Soo-ji's video titled "Human fake documentary, loving a child - A special day with Jamie's mom, Lee So-dam" was released on her YouTube channel "Hot Issue Ji" and has become a hot topic.

The video captures Lee Soo-ji transforming into "Jamie"'s mom, Lee So-dam, a parent from the academy area in Daechi-dong, Gangnam, wearing luxury padding and a luxury bag known as the "Gangnam mom school uniform" while riding with her child to the academy. After the video was released, there were reactions noting that it depicted a common sight among parents in Gangnam, but there were also ongoing suspicions that it might have been aimed at Han Ga-in, who previously shared her child's academy riding daily life.

Without warning, Han Ga-in turned her video private due to concerns about negative comments regarding her children. Later, during her appearance on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," she noted, "I want to take this opportunity to say that other mothers think I push my kids to study a lot, but that's absolutely not true. They're not kids that I can make study," and added, "I learned what I like after turning 40. I didn't have any experiences when I was young," stating, "I hope my kids figure it out quickly. There's nothing better than enjoying what you love, so I hope they have various experiences and quickly catch what they love."

Previously, Han Ga-in had stated after revealing her child's academy riding daily life that, "I don't overly pressure my kids. Above all, I don't make them take classes they don't want. I've handled everything myself, trying to reduce my work to have time with my kids and will continue to do so." The repeated clarifications from the first to the second on "You Quiz on the Block" drew sympathy.

Despite Han Ga-in's clarifications, opinions regarding Lee Soo-ji's released "Daechi mom parody" video were mixed. Lawyers also voiced their views on whether it should be seen as satire or ridicule.

In the 'Lawyers' segment of MBC's 'Live Today Morning' broadcast on the 4th, lawyer Kim Joo-pyo analyzed the video, stating, "It is satire. If you interpret comedy in a documentary mindset, everything becomes a problem. A mother must focus on discovering her child's giftedness even at the cost of losing her own life; this will be an opportunity to think about whether her child truly wishes for that." Lawyer Kim Jong-hoon also stated, "It is a healthy satire. I don't think it's ridicule. I found it very funny."

There were also opinions from actual parents in Daechi-dong. Parents met by 'Live Today Morning' shared, "There are indeed such people. Many don’t act that way, so we found it amusing. I didn't feel bad and just enjoyed it," "I think it reflects the reality well rather than being ridicule, so I think it's okay to enjoy it," "I believe it's satire. I don't think it was made to demean anyone. I thought it was pointing to private education issues to highlight real problems," and "There are so many comments belittling mothers, so I think that reaction leans more towards ridicule."

Meanwhile, regarding the suspicion that Lee Soo-ji's video targeted Han Ga-in, Lee Soo-ji avoided answering by saying to OSEN, "Please contact the company or manager." Lee Soo-ji's agency stated, "Since the channel is run by Lee Soo-ji personally, the agency doesn’t get involved. If it were produced within the agency, that would be different, but we are in a situation where we don't know anything about what is being filmed, so we have no comment."
