It has already been a month since Koo Jun-yeob sent off his wife Seo Hee-won, and now his neighbors are making things difficult for him.

According to recent reports from foreign media including the Chinese outlet China Times, Koo Jun-yeob has not held Seo Hee-won's funeral and is keeping her remains at home. Koo Jun-yeob and the bereaved family prepared for a forest burial as per the deceased's wishes during her lifetime but decided to postpone the funeral while waiting for an independent space.

However, because the remains of the deceased are still being kept at home, complaints from the neighbors continue. The family is considering various options, such as finding a safe place to place the deceased's coffin instead of the forest burial or establishing a grave where a statue of the deceased can be erected.

On Feb. 2, Seo Hee-won suddenly passed away from pneumonia caused by the flu while traveling in Japan with her family. Koo Jun-yeob has been spending each day in tears since parting with his wife. Close associates noted, "Koo Jun-yeob cannot hold back tears when he talks about Seo Hee-won. His eyes are so swollen that it is hard for him to receive treatment. He is having difficulty eating, and his weight has dropped by about 6 kg."

Earlier, Koo Jun-yeob conveyed the news to fans, saying, "Right now, I am going through a time of indescribable sorrow and pain that feels as if my insides are being torn apart. I have no strength to say anything, nor do I want to. Even before the immense pain of loss and mourning has passed, demonic people have started to slander my family and my love."

Meanwhile, Seo Hee-won is a top star from Taiwan who gained popularity in Korea as the character Jin Jandi in the Taiwanese version of "Boys Over Flowers." Koo Jun-yeob got back in touch after hearing about Seo Hee-won's divorce, which occurred after they had dated and broken up over 20 years ago, and they became a couple in 2022.
