Singer Sean successfully concluded the 3rd March 1st Memorial Donation Marathon, which he has been hosting for five years, and delivered a donation of 220 million won.
The '2025 3.1 Run,' hosted for the fifth time by Sean and Korea Habitat for Humanity, is a donation marathon aimed at remembering the sacrifices and dedication of independence activists and taking action so that their descendants can live in comfortable housing environments. This year, 3,100 individual participants were recruited within a month, receiving a lot of attention.
On the 1st, Sean joined as the final runner of the 31-kilometer event alongside 31 participants, including actors Jin Sun-Kyu, Lee Jae-Yoon, and Im Se-Mi, running the 3.1-kilometer course before running an additional 3.1 kilometers with over 1,000 individual participants.
All of the registration fees from the 3,100 individual participants and corporate sponsorships were donated to Korea Habitat for Humanity. The donation of approximately 224 million won will be used to support comfortable and safe homes for the descendants of independence activists.
Sean noted, "I am glad to see '3.1 Run' grow with the participation of more people each year while reflecting on the meaning of March 1st" and expressed gratitude, stating, "It is meaningful to be able to contribute so that descendants of independence activists can live in a better environment."
Since 2020, Sean has been conducting housing improvement campaigns for descendants of independence activists every year on March 1st and Liberation Day through initiatives such as '8.15 Run' and '3.1 Run.' With the donations collected so far, he has dedicated new homes to 17 families of independence activists and is currently building the 18th and 19th houses.
Meanwhile, Sean is taking the lead in fostering various donation cultures through 'good running.' He is making a positive impact by supporting housing improvements for descendants of independence activists, donating revenue from photo shoots, sponsoring children domestically and internationally, and participating in coal delivery volunteer activities. The total amount he has donated to places in need across society amounts to over 6 billion won.
