Singer Lee Young-ji shared 'tips' with Park Bo-gum, who will take over as the MC of 'The Seasons.'

At just 22 years old, Lee Young-ji became the youngest MC of 'The Seasons' and expressed a bittersweet farewell as she also held the title of the longest-serving MC.

'The Seasons' is the first KBS late-night music program to introduce a unique format called 'annual project.' Following 'Jay Park's Drive,' 'Choi Jung-hoon’s Night Park,' 'AKMU's Onal O'Hang,' 'Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet,' and 'Zico's Artist,' it has entered its sixth season with 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow.' The title of the sixth season, 'Rainbow,' signifies a promise to showcase a diverse range of stories and performances along with various genres of musicians every week.

Before filming the final episode of 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow,' Lee Young-ji met with OSEN. When asked if she had thought about the title of 'longest-serving MC' following her title of 'youngest MC,' she said, “I like titles. Fans had let me know that I was both the youngest and the longest-serving, and looking at it, I realize I was indeed the longest-serving. The production team often said they would love to keep working with me, and it’s unfortunate that I have to wrap it up here. But I believe I will return someday. Even with the title of longest-serving, it’s just 20 episodes. Since we film four times a month, it doesn’t feel like I’ve been doing it for that long. Rather, I feel sad that just as I was getting comfortable and ready to adapt, it’s ending.”

So, what title does Lee Young-ji prefer and hope to maintain? She stated, “I debuted at 18 when I was on 'High School Rapper,' and back then, I didn’t think much about it. There were times when it got tiresome hearing everyone say I was 'young' and asking, 'Did you watch the World Cup?' I often wished I was older, but now that I’m 24, I realize I’m no longer the youngest anywhere. I am surprised by how quickly the world has changed, but I prefer the title of longest-serving over that of youngest.”

Actor Park Bo-gum has been chosen as Lee Young-ji's successor. As the first actor to take on the role of MC for 'The Seasons,' Park Bo-gum has gained the title of 'first actor MC.' When asked if she had any messages for Park Bo-gum, Lee Young-ji opened up by saying, “I have so much I want to say. I don’t have Park Bo-gum's contact information, so I have no choice but to convey this through the media.”

Lee Young-ji noted, “One point I felt while hosting 'The Seasons' is that this program is very fluid, changing every season based on the characteristics of the MC. If the MC shows their true self, the program takes on that color. Everyone, including Jay Park, Choi Jung-hoon, AKMU, Lee Hyori, and Zico, has colored it with their own hues, and I have as well. You might feel some pressure, but I want to say that Park Bo-gum will also bring his unique color, so I hope you won’t worry too much.”

In particular, Lee Young-ji stated, “And if I were to give real advice, I hope you wouldn't be flustered when the prompter goes out occasionally. If there are awkward or uncomfortable moments, just ask the audience to applaud; it will give you a lot of strength.”
