Singer-songwriter Lee Jae, who gained global popularity with the Netflix animated film "K-pop Demon Hunters," will take the stage at the opening of the 2026 World Cup in North and Central America.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) said on the 11th via its official social media that Lee Jae will perform with world-renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City on the 12th (Korea time).
At the event, Lee Jae is set to sing "DNA," the recently released official anthem of the 2026 World Cup in North and Central America. Andrea Bocelli, David Guetta, and Megan Thee Stallion, among others, took part in "DNA."
Lee Jae sings the latter part, "Even if I fall again, I'll get back up again, This is more than just a game, It's our DNA." The Korean lyrics are known to have been written by Lee Jae.
Global stars such as Tyla and Shakira are also expected to join the opening ceremony performance. The ceremony will take place before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.
