Changwon LG retains internal free agent (FA) Jang Ming-guk (36 / 199cm) to continue their partnership.
LG announced on the 26th that it had signed an FA contract with Jang Ming-guk for a two-year contract period, with an aggregates total compensation of 200 million won in the first year. The veteran forward Jang Ming-guk wore the LG uniform and played for two seasons starting with the 2024-2025 season. In his first season he averaged 7 minutes 52 seconds over 38 regular-season games, and last season he played 27 games averaging 7 minutes 44 seconds.
His professional cumulative record is 413 regular-season games over 11 seasons. Since joining the pros in 2012, Jang Ming-guk has averaged 15 minutes 47 seconds, scoring 4.6 points with a 3-point percentage of 34%.
LG said Jang Ming-guk faithfully fulfilled his role as a veteran when the team was struggling last season, and that it pursued re-signing him to strengthen depth at the taller forward position with shooting ability due to next season's foreign player system change.
After signing the recontract, Jang Ming-guk said he was grateful to have experienced final victory and regular-season championship after returning domestically following his stint in the B.League. He added that he was glad to be able to spend the final chapter of his basketball life with head coach Jo Sang-hyun, the coaching staff, good teammates and the passionately supportive Sebaragi.
