Harry Maguire (33, Manchester United)'s mother could not hide her anger at the news that her son had been excluded from England's national team. She even made public criticism of manager Thomas Tuchel.
The British tabloid The Sun reported on the 22nd (Korea time) that Joe Maguire, Harry Maguire's mother, expressed strong anger at the news of her son's World Cup exclusion.
Earlier, Maguire was reportedly left out of the final squad for England for the 2026 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) CONCACAF World Cup.

She later directly commented on her son's post. Joe Maguire wrote, "You couldn't have done anything more. Keep your head up," calling it a "shameful decision."
Fans' reactions were also strong. One fan wrote, "It's truly shameful that Maguire was left out. Come back next season and prove yourself again." Another fan said, "Harry Maguire was England for a long time."
Some fans strongly criticized Tuchel's decision, saying, "There was no England defender better than Maguire this season."
Maguire has long served as a key defender for the national team. He was with the team for the 2018 Russia World Cup semi-finals, Euro 2020 runners-up finish and the 2022 Qatar World Cup quarterfinals. He has 66 caps and 7 goals for the national team.
Recently he also succeeded in a revival at Manchester United. Although he was on the bench at the start of the season, he regained form with consistent starts under manager Eric ten Hag. In March he returned to the England national team after about a year and a half.
However, Tuchel chose to form a defense that is faster and more mobile.
Locally, Mark Gehähi, Ezri Konsa, John Stones and Trevo Chaloba are reported to have been chosen ahead of Maguire.
Maguire, who was once seen as a 'symbol of the triumph of the human spirit,' has effectively lost even his last chance at a World Cup.
