There have been many changes to the SSG Landers' starting lineup.
SSG announced changes to its first-team roster ahead of the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League road game against the Kiwoom Heroes at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 20th. Veteran catcher Kim Min-sik was added, and starting catcher Jo Hyung-woo was removed from the roster.
The club said, "Jo Hyung-woo was replaced during a home tag in the seventh inning of yesterday's game, and examination results showed damage to the left shoulder joint capsule that is expected to take about two weeks to recover."
Also, the closer and problem-solver Choi Jeong was left out of the starting lineup. He is on the first-team roster but is unlikely to play in the game. The club said, "Choi felt discomfort during a swing in the ninth inning of the previous game and was replaced. Today's examination showed inflammation of the left femur, so he will rest and the team will monitor his condition."
SSG arranged the batting order without Choi Jeong and Jo Hyung-woo as follows: Park Seong-han (shortstop), Jeong Jun-jae (second base), Choi Ji-hoon (center field), Ereedia (left field), Kim Jae-hwan (designated hitter), An Sang-hyun (third base), Lee Jeong-beom (first base), Lee Ji-young (catcher), Chae Hyun-woo (right field).
In the previous game, the batting order was An Sang-hyun (shortstop), Jeong Jun-jae (second base), Choi Jeong (third base), Ereedia (left field), Kim Jae-hwan (designated hitter), Choi Ji-hoon (center field), Chae Hyun-woo (right field), Jo Hyung-woo (catcher), Lee Jeong-beom (first base). Park Seong-han returned to the starting lineup, while Choi Jeong and Jo Hyung-woo were absent.
Before the game, manager Lee Soong-yong said about Choi Jeong, "We need to watch him for two or three days." He added about Jo Hyung-woo, "Jo will likely need more time. We will need to re-examine him in about 10 days," expressing regret.
