Barcelona turned a new page in the history of Spain's professional soccer LaLiga by surpassing Real Madrid.
Coached by Hanji Flick (61), Barcelona defeated Real Betis 3-1 on the 18th (Korea time) in the 2025-2026 LaLiga round 37 home finale at Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain.
Having already secured the LaLiga title, Barcelona with this victory showed perfect form at home this season, not allowing a single draw or defeat. They completed an unbeaten home sweep by winning all 19 LaLiga home matches.
This is an unprecedented record in the history of Spanish football. According to statistics firm Opta, since LaLiga was reorganized into a 20-team system (38 matches per season, 19 home matches), Flick's Barcelona in the 2025-2026 season is the first team to record a 100% home winning rate.
In the past, Real Madrid also recorded a perfect home season. But that record was achieved in the 1985-1986 season under an 18-team system (17 home matches). Barcelona surpassed their rival's mark in the modern football format with more matches, achieving a singular feat.
The match was also Robert Lewandowski's (38) farewell at Camp Nou as Barcelona's front striker. To mark the occasion, teammate Raphinha (30) stepped up as the finisher. Raphinha opened the scoring with a fantastic free kick before the 28th minute of the first half.
Building on the momentum, Raphinha did not miss a fatal mistake by opposing defender Héctor Bellerín (31) in the 17th minute of the second half, intercepting and scoring an additional goal that shattered Betis' spirit to chase.
Barcelona conceded a penalty to Isco (34) in the 24th minute of the second half and allowed a consolation goal. But Barcelona had João Cancelo (32) in the 29th minute of the second half. Cancelo converted the insurance goal and put the final touch.
