Doosan Bears of professional baseball set a new record with 11 consecutive sellouts.
Doosan announced that in the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League game against the SSG Landers held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 9th, as of 4:57 p.m. 23,750 seats were sold out. It was the 14th sellout of the season. They achieved 11 consecutive home sellouts since the April 17 game against KIA.
Doosan, ranked third in attendance this season, demonstrated strong drawing power by selling out this game as well. Doosan sold out 14 of its 16 home games this season, excluding two games against Kiwoom. The 11 consecutive sellouts set a new Jamsil Stadium record, surpassing the LG Twins, who share the same home stadium, with 10 consecutive sellouts.
Bell of popular girl group KISS OF LIFE threw the ceremonial first pitch at the game. After the pitch, Bell said she supports Doosan Bears' victory and wished for Doosan's win.
Doosan started Kwak Bin as the starting pitcher. He has a 2-2 record with a 3.40 ERA in seven starts (39 2/3 innings) this season. In his last start he beat Kiwoom, pitching six innings, allowing six hits (one home run), one walk, striking out nine and allowing two runs. Against SSG he made one start, pitching seven innings, allowing seven hits, one walk, striking out 10 and allowing two runs, a strong outing but took the loss.
SSG started Hiramoto Ginjiro as the starting pitcher. Ginjiro, who joined SSG as the foreign pitcher replacing Mitch White due to injury, made his KBO League debut that day and became the first left-handed Japanese player in league history. However, his pitching line was not good: three innings, six hits (one home run), six walks, two strikeouts and six runs allowed.
Doosan leads the game 6-2 through the top of the fourth inning.
