Professional baseball teams SSG Landers and NC Dinos recorded a tie for the first time on Children's Day.
SSG and NC played to a 7-7 tie after a hard-fought game that went to the 11th inning in the third game between the teams of the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League at Incheon SSG Landers Field on the 5th.
The game opened with momentum for NC. In the top of the second, Matt Davidson was hit by a pitch and Ahn Jung-yeol followed with a hit, then Kim Han-byeol drove in a run with an RBI single to put them ahead. In the bottom of the second, SSG loaded the bases with walks to Choi Jun-woo, Cho Hyung-woo and Park Seong-han, and Jeong Jun-jae hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and knot the game at 1-1.
In the top of the third, Han Seok-hyun singled, Davidson was hit by a pitch and Park Geon-woo walked. Lee Woo-seong drove in a run with an RBI single to put the team back in front. In the bottom of the fourth, Choi Jun-woo drew a walk and Cho Hyung-woo reached on a shortstop fielding error. With bases loaded after Park Seong-han's walk and no outs, Jeong Jun-jae hit a sacrifice fly to bring the game back to even. In the top of the fifth, Davidson reached on an infield single to shortstop and Park Geon-woo hit a two-run homer. In the sixth, Kim Han-byeol and Choi Jeong-won hit consecutive singles to create a one-out, runners on first and third situation, and Kim Joo-won hit a sacrifice fly to add another run.
SSG began its counterattack starting in the eighth. Leadoff hitter Cho Hyung-woo reached on an infield single to third base, and Park Seong-han's batted ball produced a first baseman fielding error. With a bases-loaded chance after a walk to Jeong Jun-jae, Guillermo Heredia hit a two-run double. In the ninth, Cho Hyung-woo singled and pinch-runner Chae Hyun-woo successfully stole second. With two outs and a runner on third after Park Seong-han's advanced runner, Jeong Jun-jae hit a two-out, RBI triple to send the game into extra innings.
In the top of the 10th, NC's Do Tae-hoon walked and Lee Woo-seong singled, and Kim Han-byeol hit a two-run double. But SSG in the bottom of the 10th saw Choi Ji-hoon single and left fielder Go Jun-hwi commit a throwing error that allowed him to reach third. Oh Tae-gon drove in a run with an RBI single. Then Lee Ji-young walked and Chae Hyun-woo singled, and Jeong Jun-jae hit an RBI single to tie the game once more. Neither team scored thereafter, and the game ended in a tie. The game lasted a lengthy 4 hours, 22 minutes.
This game was the last Children's Day game held at SSG Landers Field. Children's Day games are hosted on a biennial rotation among the 10 clubs, and SSG plans to use Cheongna Dome as its new home stadium starting in 2028. In the final Children's Day game, SSG could not decide a winner. This game is the first extra-inning tie on Children's Day in KBO League history. Including ninth-inning ties, it is the second such occurrence since the 15-15 tie between Hanwha and KIA in 2005.
