The Lotte Giants in professional baseball ran a three-game winning streak and climbed out of last place in the league.
On June 2 at Incheon SSG Landers Field, Lotte beat the SSG Landers 7-5 in the '2026 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League.' They ran a three-game winning streak and finally escaped from the league's bottom.
Starting pitcher Na Gyun-an delivered seven innings, six hits allowed (one home run), one walk, seven strikeouts and two runs, earning his first win of the season. The bullpen, which continued with Park Jeong-min (0 innings, two runs) — Jeong Cheol-won (1 inning, one run) — Kim Won-jung (1 inning, no runs), preserved the team's victory. Lotte set its starting lineup as Jang Du-seong (center field), Yoon Dong-hee (right field), Víctor Reyes (left field), Yoo Kang-nam (designated hitter), Kim Min-sung (first base), Park Seung-wook (third base), Jeon Min-jae (shortstop), Son Seong-bin (catcher) and Han Tae-yang (second base). In the bottom of the first, Lotte gave up a leadoff home run to Park Seong-han and fell behind. In the fourth, Guillermo Heredia added an RBI single to extend the lead by one. But in the top of the sixth with no outs and a runner on first, SSG starting pitcher Anthony Beniavidez hit Jang Du-seong in the head and was ejected for a headshot, and Lotte did not miss the opportunity. Víctor Reyes delivered a two-run RBI single, Noh Jin-hyuk hit a sacrifice fly for one RBI, and Jeon Min-jae added an RBI single, producing four runs at once to complete the comeback.
In the seventh, Lotte added two more runs on a run-scoring walk to Park Seung-wook and a wild pitch, and in the eighth Víctor Reyes delivered an RBI single to add another run. In the bottom of the eighth, Choi Jeong hit a three-run homer for SSG, but they could not come any closer.
Lotte manager Kim Tae-hyoung said in a postgame interview, "Starting pitcher Na Gyun-an pitched well with seven innings and two runs allowed. He had pitched well before but was unable to get the win, so I want to congratulate him on his first win of the season," expressing his thoughts on the victory.
Kim Tae-hyoung, who said, "With Yoon Dong-hee's three hits and Víctor Reyes' three RBIs, the position players' balanced performance made the win possible," also expressed gratitude to the fans, saying, "I want to thank the fans who filled the away seats and cheered enthusiastically."
Having secured a weekend three-game winning series, Lotte announced Kim Jin-wook as the starting pitcher for the game on the 3rd. SSG will start Baek Seung-geon as the starting pitcher to fill the spot left by the injured Mitch White.
