Incheon Korean Air Lines Jumpers and Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs completed a 2-for-1 trade.
Korean Air Lines said on the 1st, "We completed a 2-for-1 trade sending setter Yu Gwang-woo and libero Kang Seung-il to Samsung Fire and receiving Samsung Fire libero Lee Sang-wook," adding, "This trade was made to strengthen the roster for the next season."
Korean Air Lines and Samsung Fire said, "We judged that it will be of great help in strengthening the team and operating the roster from a long-term perspective," adding, "We welcome the players joining the team and express our gratitude to the players leaving the team for their dedication."
With this trade, veteran Yu Gwang-woo returns to his former team after seven years. Yu Gwang-woo, who debuted in the 2007-2008 season and wore the Samsung Fire uniform until 2017, played for Woori Card from 2017 to 2019 as a compensation player for free agent Park Sang-ha, and through a trade has worn the Korean Air Lines uniform and played since 2019.
Kang Seung-il, a young libero who began his professional career after being selected by Korean Air Lines with the first pick of the second round in the 2022-2023 season, is a young libero. Lee Sang-wook entered the professional stage wearing the Woori Card uniform as the first pick of the third round in the 2017-2018 season, and transferred to Samsung Fire in 2022 via a sign-and-trade.
