Lotte Giants overcame their 'nemesis' Jack Lough and snapped a five-game losing streak.
Kim Tae-hyoung-led Lotte defeated Doosan Bears 6-1 in a home game at Busan Sajik Stadium in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League on the 23rd. With the win, Lotte, which ended its five-game losing streak, improved to 7-14. Doosan, whose four-game winning streak was snapped, fell to 9-12-1.
Doosan set its starting lineup as Park Chan-ho (shortstop), Son Ah-seop (designated hitter), Park Jun-soon (second baseman), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Kim Min-seok (left fielder), Cameron (right fielder), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Jung Soo-bin (center fielder) and Park Ji-hoon (third baseman) in that order, and Jack Lough, who had been dominant against Lotte last season with a 4-1 record and a 1.36 ERA in five games, started as the starting pitcher.
In response, Lotte started Elvin Rodriguez, and the starting lineup was Han Tae-yang (second baseman), Reyes (right fielder), Jeon Jun-woo (left fielder), Han Dong-hee (third baseman), No Jin-hyuk (first baseman), Yoo Kang-nam (designated hitter), Son Ho-young (center fielder), Son Seong-bin (catcher) and Jeon Min-jae (shortstop) in that order.
In the top of the second, Doosan took the lead on Cameron's solo home run. Cameron pulled Rodriguez's third pitch, a 140 km/h cutter, over the center fence. His fifth homer of the season. But in the bottom of the second, after two outs, Son Ho-young reached on a not-out wild pitch to create a dramatic 2-out, 1st-base situation, and consecutive doubles by Son Seong-bin and Jeon Min-jae produced a 2-1 comeback.
Lotte, now leading, pushed three more runs across in the bottom of the fourth and pulled away from Doosan. Yoo Kang-nam reached with an opposite-field single, and Sin Yun-hoo reached with a left-field double to create a no-out, 2·3-base chance; Son Seong-bin flied out to second baseman but Jeon Min-jae's RBI hit brought Yoo Kang-nam home. With runners on first and third and one out, Han Tae-yang's grounder brought in Sin Yun-hoo, and Reyes's RBI hit drove in Jeon Min-jae to make it 5-1.
Doosan continued to be stymied by Rodriguez, and Lotte added one more run and extended the margin. With a new pitcher Choi Jun-ho on the mound, Han Tae-yang and Reyes produced consecutive hits to create a no-out, 1·3-base situation, and on Choi Jun-ho's wild pitch during Jeon Jun-woo's at-bat, Han Tae-yang sprinted home to make it 6-1.
In the top of the ninth against Choi Jun-yong, after one out Cameron singled to left and Yang Seok-hwan reached with a left-field double to create a 2·3-base chance, but Jo Soo-haeng flied out to shortstop and pinch-hitter Kang Seung-ho was retired on a fly to first base, sealing Lotte's victory.
Lotte's starter Rodriguez threw 111 pitches over six innings, allowing 6 hits (1 home run) with 8 strikeouts and 1 run for a quality start and his third win of the season. He was followed by Hyun Do-hoon, Park Jeong-min and Choi Jun-yong, who each threw a scoreless inning. Offensively, Jeon Min-jae had two hits and two RBIs, Reyes had two hits and one RBI, and Han Tae-yang and Son Seong-bin each drove in a run to help end the losing streak.
