Coach Kim Sang-sik's staff is receiving strong recognition in Vietnam.
According to the Vietnam Football Federation, Coach Yun Dong-heon, whose contract term had expired, will have his contract automatically extended under the existing contract terms and will continue his tenure with the Vietnam national team.
Coach Yun Dong-heon currently serves as the physical coach for the national team. His role is more than that. Not limited to simple fitness management, he also handles players' match data analysis and performance management, affecting overall team operations. He is evaluated to be in the process of expanding his scope from "physical coach" to "comprehensive coach."
Coach Yun Dong-heon's development process shows the archetype of a "field-oriented coach." He built a theoretical foundation based on the AFC A license and FITNESS LEVEL 2 certification, and accumulated various championship experiences and practical data on the Hong Kong stage. In particular, while at Hong Kong Kitchee, he directly took charge of data analysis and developed into a "coach who designs performance," not just a simple trainer.
Manager Kim Sang-sik, who leads the national team, also did not hide his trust in Coach Yun. Manager Kim said, "Coach Yun Dong-heon is a coach who has not only physical expertise but also data analysis ability. He plays a major role in improving the team's performance," emphasizing his value.
This extended tenure carries meaning beyond simple retention. Coach Yun Dong-heon's role is increasingly expanding within the "efficient and modern training system" that the Vietnam national team pursues. The process of integrating tactical elements into physical training and analyzing players' performance based on data has already become a key pillar within the team.
Coach Yun Dong-heon said, "I am pleased to continue my tenure with the Vietnam national team. The fact that I can continue to challenge myself at the national team level itself is very meaningful," and added, "Based on the experience I have built up, I want to contribute more to players' growth and team development."
