Brazilian superstar Neymar (34, Santos) denied transfer rumors to Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
Recent reports said U.S. MLS club FC Cincinnati was considering signing Neymar. Neymar denied the transfer rumors, saying, "To be honest, I don't know much about the next transfer window. I am under contract with Santos until the end of this year. I intend to honor that contract until the end."
Neymar's appearances this season were limited due to the aftereffects of injury. Since the start of 2026 he has appeared in only eight matches, recording four goals and three assists. Recently, Neymar scored after returning from injury. Santos drew 1-1 with Deportivo Recorrta.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti gave a positive assessment of Neymar's chances of returning to the national team in an interview with the French media outlet L'Équipe. He said, "Neymar is capable of returning to 100% condition. There are still two months left to show whether he can play in the World Cup."
Neymar is currently working to get his body ready to return to the Brazil national team. The 34-year-old aims to play in the FIFA World Cup this summer. But because of the aftereffects of injury, he has not appeared for the Brazil national team since October 2023.
Ancelotti said, "I call up only players whose bodies are ready," emphasizing the principle to Neymar as well.
